Keeping in view the welfare of the officers and officials particularly the constables, the Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir conducted a Special DPC in which 46 cases were approved for promotion in different ranks including In-situ grade promotion. During the proceedings 08 Head Constables were promoted to the rank of ASI, 13 Sg. Constables to the rank of Head Constable and 10 Constables to the rank of Sg. Constables. Besides, In-situ grade promotion was granted in respect of 15 Constables. Earlier during the year-2016, ZPHQ Kashmir under its various orders has promoted 04 Asstt. Sub-Inspectors, 207 Head Constables, 276 Sg. Constables and 03 Constables to their next ranks respectively. Moreover, In-situ grade promotion in favour of 1266 officials was also granted which included 54 Head Constables, 250 Sg. Constables, 902 Constables and 60 followers.
During the year, under the rehabilitation policy, 215 Special Police Officers (SPOs) were converted to higher ranks. Out of this 212 were converted as Constables and 03 were converted as Followers under different categories.
The Zone followed the compassionate appointment cases under SRO 43 of 1994 with zeal and succeeded in settling 45 cases of this nature. The appointment orders have been issued by different departments including Police for 45 beneficiaries.
